Technically Lyra turned one week old on Thursday but we’ve had a lot of family visiting over the past couple of days so this is the first chance I’ve had to post this. I can’t believe it, one week has already passed. In one way it feels like only yesterday that I was giving birth to her but it also feels like she’s always been a part of our family. This first week has been a lot less hectic than I thought it would be. Lyra only wakes a couple of times through the night (I know this could change…

This man. Oh, this man has been amazing. He seems to have flourished in his new role as father and my heart feels so full from watching the two of them together. Not only is he dong an amazing job of looking after Lyra but he’s also looking after me as I recover from her birth. He’s done almost every nappy change as our mat is on the floor and I struggle to get up and down. He gets up during the night to keep me company as I feed her and then help get her back to sleep. He…

My due date was 5 days ago and I must admit I’m starting to struggle now. I’ve no motivation to do anything but I’m also bored out of my mind being home alone all day. Physically I’m feeling ok although sleep is difficult now due to my size. My body keeps tricking me, most evenings are spent with me in pain due to cramps and back ache but it never progresses to anything more and I find myself waking up disappointed in the morning. On the bright side, Matt will be home in an hour and a half and then…

So here we are. Today is our due date and there is really no sign of baby coming any time soon. I keep telling myself that that’s ok, but really what I want is to meet our little one. It’s like waiting for Christmas but not knowing which day it’s on. I can’t wait to find out if we have a son or a daughter, what they’ll look like, discover their personality. I know I’ve been very lucky with this pregnancy, it’s been pretty plain sailing all the way through. And I’ve loved every little kick and wiggle. But I’m…

I take so many photos in day to day life but what I haven’t been as good at as I thought I would be is taking photos of my bump. It’s been difficult to document myself and I’ve often not felt good enough to get in front of the camera so there aren’t as many pictures as I’d like. Matt and I decided to remedy this by getting some maternity photos taken. When trying to think of somewhere to take them we both automatically thought of Dyrham Park and our tree so despite the time of year we decided to…

I’ve been working all week and it has been tough so we had planned to spend this rare day off together cuddled up on the sofa watching films. When I woke up and saw the beautiful weather though I just couldn’t bring myself to spend the whole day inside so we decided to pack up some coffee and head to our favourite place, Dyrham Park, for the last time this year. We sat huddled up under our tree in the winter sunshine and drank our coffee whilst reflecting on just how good 2013 has been to us. We talked about…

Another weekend, another trip to Dyrham Park. We had such a good time as always and the weather was lovely! I didn’t take that many photos for once but of course we managed to get one of us under our special tree… Never miss a post: Follow me on Bloglovin Let’s chat! Find me on Twitter and Instagram
