I’m so, so late in posting this but at least it’s up now. I’d hate to miss a week! This week has been all about Lyra learning to prop herself up and she seems so happy with herself about it. She can’t do it for long at the moment before she gets distracted, lifting an arm to reach out for something and causing her to topple over. She seems to enjoy the toppling over almost as much as the sitting at the moment (obviously only on the bed or something, we don’t let her topple on to a hard…

I really cannot believe how quickly the weeks are flying by now, I feel like we’ve picked up speed and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s sad that little newborn Lyra is now nothing but a memory but I love seeing her learning and experiencing new things. Lyra has become such a wriggler this past week. I’m not sure how she’s managing to move so much but she’s upside down when I wake up and check on her in her cot and within minutes she manages to wriggle off of her playmat. Lyra has also started wriggling…

My grandparents came up to visit us last week and we took a short boat trip in Bath since the weather was so nice. Lyra loved it! She didn’t know where to look first especially since there were lots of other people on the boat as she loves looking at new faces. She spent a lot of time looking out of the window before deciding she was hungry and then falling asleep. It’s so fun to see Lyra experience new things, I love watching her watching everything.

These photos have been sat on my laptop for almost a week now. I’m finding it more and more difficult to sit down and go through my pictures to upload on here. I really want to keep it up though as I love having somewhere to document my family’s adventures. Also, how stinking cute are these two?! Matt is such an amazing Dad, he works hard all week to provide for us and then throws himself into family life as soon as he’s home. There really is no rest for him at the moment! I like to think we’re worth…

I’ve started to slack on putting these up but we have at least been taking the pictures each week, I’m determined to keep that up all year. These past two weeks have seen such a change in Lyra. She seems much more in control of her body and will no longer lie still on a blanket or the playmat, preferring instead to twist and turn. Lyra has yet to roll completely over but spends lots of time rolling on to each side and back, especially in her cot in the mornings. She’ll lie quietly rolling around in the morning, sucking…

This week has been a little tougher than previous ones. Lyra has decided she no longer wants to take a bottle so date nights will be out until we can get her to take one again. Her voice has also grown to an entirely new level, a very loud level. A lot of shouting in this house this week. I know she’s just playing with her voice and enjoying the new sounds she can make but boy is she loud! Lyra is showing a real love for being outside so daily walks in the sunshine are a must around here.…

It kind of annoys me that Lyra’s feet are blurry in this photo but it really sums her up at the moment so I had to use it anyway. She’s smiling all the time now and loves nothing more than kicking her legs about. She’s still enjoying pulling her dresses up (as you can see, haha). This week we took a short trip to Cornwall and once again she did brilliantly both with the car ride and with sleeping in a new place. She’s not really doing anything new this week but she really seems different in herself, her movements…

This past weekend we headed to Cornwall to visit Matt’s Dad. I didn’t take too many photos for once, only really taking them at this beach. It was raining whist we were there but that’s not a fair representation of the weekend as it was very sunny and warm the rest of the time! I love taking Lyra on these little adventures and I’m hoping that the more we take the more comfortable we will become. I get nervous in the car with her and also when we’re eating out but I’m trying to purposefully put ourselves in these situations…
