This little one is so much cooler than Matt and I already and she’s only 5 months old so I thought I’d post about some of my favourite outfits of hers now and again. I’m pretty nosey and always like to read these sort of posts so I guess others do too (I hope I’m not the only one). Anyway, let me know if I should do any more of these, here are the details of the outfit Lyra wore to the zoo last week. Jumper: H&M Shorts: H&M Tights: Debenhams (Part of a dress and tights set) Hat: Knitted…

Whilst we were away with my family last weekend we got a chance to take Lyra swimming for the first time. To say I was nervous is a massive understatement, I was so sure that she was going to scream as soon as her feet touched the water. We’ve been battling at bath times with Lyra since she was born and she’s only just starting sitting without crying in them in the past couple of weeks so I felt very justified to be worried about swimming. The pool was luckily very family friendly, my Grandma was able to sit at…

On Thursday we headed to Bristol Zoo with little-alba-sunrise and her family to celebrate Alba’s 2nd birthday. We had such a lovely (if tiring) day and although Lyra wasn’t too bothered by the animals she definitely enjoyed being out and about. Lyra also loved watching Alba run around and of course liked looking up at all of the trees. I think Lyra was probably a little young for the zoo just yet so we’ll wait a while before we attempt it again but she did like the fish. I think maybe the aquarium would be worth a try next. I…

This week feels like the first week in a while where Lyra has changed a lot. I can’t pinpoint exactly why I feel she’s changed except that she seems to be doing more things deliberately than before. Noises, playing and facial expressions all appear to have a little thought process behind them now although of course there are still some random movements that surprise even Lyra. We headed to the New Forest last weekend as you can see in my previous posts and it really reminded me not to underestimate Lyra. She was in a new place surrounded by lots…

This little series of photos brings such a smile to my face. Seeing her interacting with nature is amazing and that bottom face is so completely her. Haha. These photos also make me so excited for Autumn; the knitwear, the chill, the hats and the rosy cheeks. Perfect.

Whilst we were away at the weekend we headed into the New Forest for a lovely family walk. We left the lodge quite early so it was still a little chilly but the sun was out and Lyra with rosy cheeks is pretty much the cutest thing ever. One of my favourite things about Lyra is her curiosity and I love watching Matt introduce her to the world. He made sure to show her the different trees and pass her leaves and twigs to feel and discover. Being outside with my family is so good for my soul. I also…

I can’t stop looking at this photo. I really can’t. It perfectly sums up almost everything that I was looking forward to about having a child. The little things; the cuteness, the little hat, and the photo itself but also the big things. Oh, the big things. The outdoor adventuring. Seeing the world through fresh eyes. Watching my child experience something new. Seeing the man I love completely and utterly thrive in his new role as a father. The pose that has the perfect balance between offering safety and support whilst still giving our daughter the space to discover and…

I’m all caught up with these finally! Yey. This little lady has so much personality now, it’s such a joy to see. She can sit up all by herself and even plays with toys whilst doing so but I still like to be nearby to catch her as she can topple when distracted or overexcited. She has not lost any of her determination and if she sees something she wants which is out of her reach she will throw herself forward to try and grab it. Lyra has definitely become more clingy recently and will often whine or grumble…
