A couple of weeks ago there was a bank holiday Monday, the last one of the year really. Matt had been back at work for two days after our holiday to Spain and after I’d done my day at work we found ourselves with two days off together and no plans. As much as we had loved our holiday we both found that we were craving some greenery, some woodland, and some cliché English countryside. And so we packed ourselves a little picnic, and by that I mean bought some bits in the nearest supermarket, and headed out in search of trees. After some quick searching online (I find that the Woodland Trust website is perfect for this) we discovered Folly Farm nature reserve which is owned by Avon Wildlife Trust.
I do not know how we have never been there before as it’s massive (250 acres to be precise) and full of trees with an absolutely breathtaking view once you get to the top of the hill. The sun was shining, we had a great picnic and just generally enjoyed the walk and the greenery. I don’t know about all of you but to me it feels like Autumn has really arrived this week so looking back on these photos feels like looking back on Summer.
Speaking of Autumn, I think Folly Farm Nature Reserve would be perfect in the later months of the year so I think that we’ll have to go back for a second visit very soon. There’s nothing better than the woods in Autumn, especially in Lyra’s opinion anyway as there are even more treasures for her to discover.
We’ve really been enjoying getting back into filming our weekend adventures and we’re taking a no talking/montage approach as I think it flows better and will hopefully be more enjoyable for the girls to look back on one day. Pleas let me know what you think.
