Oh Autumn, how happy I am to see you! We have found ourselves drawn to the woods at every opportunity recently as they are my absolute favourite place to be at this time of year. Walks under the trees, ‘treasures’ to collect, puddles and mud to stomp through. Everything our little family could need. In order to keep things fresh though we’ve been searching out different woodlands each weekend and last week we stumbled across Clanger Wood. Only a short drive from Bath I was surprised that we hadn’t heard of it sooner but we will definitely be back as it was a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.
Athena’s favourite thing was, by far, the puddle splashing. She’s only had a chance to splash once or twice before so she was a little cautious to begin with but luckily she had a big sister to show her how fun it could be. After that there was no stopping her. She even walked straight into a very deep puddle that went right up to the top of her wellies. I mean thank god she was wearing her puddle suit!
Lyra’s favourite thing was being able to collect ‘treasures’. In fact it is always her favourite thing to do and Autumn is just the perfect time to do it. Leaves, acorns, pine cones, sticks, all of that and more. Her pockets and bag are always bulging at the moment and quite frankly I love it. It’s so much fun to see her explore and adventure.
As always Matt filmed a little video of our woodland adventure complete with puddle splashing and treasure collecting!
