My first portraits of my daughters in 2017! I absolutely loved doing this project last year and it’s so much fun looking back on how much Lyra changed throughout the whole year and knowing I have a portrait of Athena from every week of her life so far is so special. Basically, I just had to continue this project throughout 2017.
Both of the girls’ photos this week were taken on New Year’s Day. We decided that since we had small children and they couldn’t really celebrate New Year’s Eve we would start a new tradition of watching the sunrise on the first instead. So we climbed a hill near our house on New Year’s Day and watched the first sunrise of 2017 together. It was such a lovely experience and hope that we can make it a tradition. Lyra decided she just had to take her umbrella and then, despite it not raining, had to put it up whilst on the hill. Look how pleased she is with it though! Athena was of course all wrapped up warm and strapped to Matt’s chest. I love this photo because she’s giving her trademark look, all eyes and cheeks and looking very serious.
OMG, check out the cat hat. That is adorable. Where did you get that? My little girl is dressed in cat clothes all the time.
It is a cute hat isn't it?! It's from Monsoon but unfortunately it's a hand me down from her big sister so I don't know if they still make this design x
I am so, so pleased to see you linking up again this year – your photos have been some of my favourites since I started hosting. That cat hat is so cute – and I love the contrast with her little serious face 🙂 x
Aww, thank you! This is by far my favourite linky. I love having a collection of photos of the girls to look back on. Thank you for hosting x
That's a lovely idea going out to see the first sunrise. Lovely photos of them #livingarrows
I'm such a night owl that I hate early mornings, but these gorgeous photos really make up for it. #LivingArrows
