I’ve just checked my blog and for some reason the last month that I participated in Me and Mine was August and I’m not sure why as I actually did manage to get some family photos during September on our holiday to Spain. But, here we are in October now and we have well and truly been embracing the Autumn in this house. We’ve spent as much time as possible outside and I think we may have been to a different National Trust property every weekend this month. We spent a long weekend in Devon with my family, exploring and enjoying each other’s company, and I also spent a few days down on Portland visiting friends and family whilst Matt worked back home in Bath. So, lots of good stuff.
This month’s family photos were taken on our way back from Devon about halfway through the month. We stopped at a National Trust place called Killerton to break up the journey and to try and wear Lyra out. We certainly succeeded at that. After running round all morning, she fell asleep in the car before we had even left the car park! Whilst walking round the grounds we found this giant swing attached to one of the trees and after I had had a little go with Athena we tried to all squeeze on it. I love Lyra’s face in these photos as she’s really unsure about it all and looks like she’s just concentrating on holding on. Since we were still with family we didn’t have to worry about using the remote or self timer so these photos were really quick and easy to take which made a nice change.
I also had to include this photo that my Mum took of us whilst at Killerton because it seems rare at the moment that we get a family photo where Athena isn’t in the Ergo. It’s nice to have one where you can see her face and I love the way Lyra is interacting with her in this shot.
I can’t believe that October is over now, we are well and truly into the end of the year and the countdown to Christmas. This November will see us celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary, we have a long weekend in the New Forest, and I have a tattoo booked. All very exciting things!
