This week has been so, so cold that we’ve mostly spent it hibernating. We’ve been enjoying cuddling up, watching films and playing with the toys that Lyra received for Christmas. Today was bright and sunny though and we couldn’t resist getting out to enjoy it despite it being bitter. We wrapped up as much as we could and headed to one of our local parks to run off some steam.
Lyra headed straight to her favourite piece of play equipment, the slide. This particular slide is taller than me and I usually get so nervous that I stop Lyra climbing it halfway up. Today I thought I’d let her keep going and this is the moment she realised that I’d let her climb higher than usual. She was pretty happy with herself. Of course she expertly managed the climb up the slide and then sat herself down carefully before sliding down. I don’t know why I had been so worried. She’s my determined little daredevil and I love her so.

Lovely photos – so bright and cheerful in the cold. It is always nerve wracking seeing them heading up high, but they're usually ok. #livingarrows
I know, I was so worried letting her climb this but she's been desperate to for ages and she was very careful!
Such lovely pictures – it's been great to have a few days of blue skies, even if it has been cold, after all the miserable rain we've been having. I love Lyra's hoodie too, so cute! #livingarrows
Thank you! I am wishing for those blue skies again right now after this week, fingers crossed it comes back soon.
These are such beautiful pictures! My daughter went on the slide for the first time this week (being held around the waist – she's only nine months) and loved it; isn't it amazing watching them have fun?!

Thank you! For some reason my daughter has always loved the slide, much more than the swings which she tends to just sit scowling in if we put her in one.
