“A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015.”

I’m trying to push myself with these portraits to try new things. It doesn’t always turn out exactly as I plan. I mean, I wish that Lyra was more in focus and her hand wasn’t blurry but it’s a photo of my daughter and what’s not to love about that. It captures the way she sits at the moment, the confidence with which she reaches out, those fears of toppling whilst sitting are long gone for her. It captures her serious expression as she works out what she wants and how she’s going to get it. It captures her at this very minute and that’s why I take photographs!

Linking up with Practising Simplicity and her 52 Project. You can see my other weeks here.

What a lovely capture, such beautiful lighting too! I know what you mean about taking the right photos of them, they just don't stay still long enough do they, thank god for the motion stop setting on my camera!

I see you're from Bath too, I'm just down the road 🙂 x

Thank you! I didn't realise you were so close, I live just outside the centre. It's such a lovely part of the country isn't it? I love it x
