The Extraordinary Ordinary: 20.01.15

I seem to find myself thinking about time more and more at the moment. It’s just that is rushing by so fast and I am definitely guilty of trying to squeeze too much in. I’m constantly thinking of and planning our next little adventure, desperate for Lyra’s childhood to be the best that it can be. And once we’re out somewhere I’m sure to take hundreds of photos in order to document our adventures as Lyra is too young to remember any of it. This isn’t going to change, nor would I want it to, but there is one thing that I would like to be better at.

Appreciating the extraordinary ordinary.

Because those everyday moments deserve documenting too. Those days where we’re in our comfiest clothes, don’t leave the house and Lyra tips out her toys all over the living room floor. Or those moments that are just part of our everyday routine such as mealtimes, running errands and bath time. I think it might be partly due to spending time away from Lyra whilst I’m at work but I’ve found myself much more aware of these moments recently. There really is magic in the everyday.

And so, I want to make more of an effort to pick up my camera on days where we have nothing planned. I want to share some of our extraordinary ordinary moments on my blog because time is flying by and I don’t want to forget a thing.
