Wow! I have really let these slide the past few weeks. I blame it on the fact that these photos are due on a Thursday which means over Christmas was Christmas Day and New Years Day. I even forgot to take her 36 week photo on Christmas Day but luckily I have this photo from Christmas Eve when Lyra was leaving snacks out for Father Christmas and his reindeer.
Lyra has, of course, changed a lot these past couple of weeks. I’m not even sure if I can remember everything but I’ll give it a go anyway. She’s been dragging herself around on her belly for a while now but she can now crawl properly although she usually chooses not to as it’s very slow at the moment. I think in the next couple of weeks we’ll see a shift from belly dragging to crawling though as Lyra gets better at it. She’s also got really good at shuffling around on her bum so between them all she can move pretty quickly. Especially when you take your eyes off of her which is definitely not advised.
For Christmas Lyra received a plastic walker and as long as one of us is holding it to stop it rolling off too quickly she can take a few steps whilst holding on to it. She always looks really proud for a few seconds and then gets scared and cries. Poor thing! We’re not pushing it though as she’s still pretty young but she has always been happier on her feet than anything else. And now she can pull herself up on to her feet which makes her very happy. Lyra now pulls herself up on everything, bath times especially have become quite dangerous with her trying to stand up every two minutes.
I’m sure lots more changes have occurred but I can’t remember them. This is why I need to do these updates every week!
