This is what our current bath set up looks like. We have had so many problems getting Lyra to enjoy a bath once she outgrew her baby bath. She was reasonably happy taking a bath with one of us but sometimes I really don’t want to run the whole bath and she still freaked a little. So, this is how we do it at the moment. I’m hoping we can rid of the towel in the bottom soon and replace it with a bath mat as it is not fun having a sopping wet towel at the end. It may…

The top left photo was taken the first year we were together, the next three were randomly taken throughout the years and the bottom left was whilst I was pregnant. It makes me unbelievably happy to see these photos together and to see Lyra in the bottom left makes my heart swell. Taking a photo under this tree is hands down the best tradition Matt and I ever started. (bottom left taken by the talented Naomi Jane Photography)

I love weekends! This weekend we headed to Dyrham Park, to have a little wander and to introduce Lyra to one of favourite places. This photo makes me so happy. A picture of my family in one of my favourite places. I know I always go on about it but I really, truly love Lyra’s eye. Such a perfect copy of her Daddy’s, every time I look at them my love grows. It’s like her eyes are a constant reminder of the love I share with Matt and that colour will always shout home to me. Although I know she’d be beautiful no matter the colour of her eyes I selfishly hope they don’t change.

I’d say that managing my expectations has been the hardest part of becoming a mother. I suddenly have this unpredictable little person who doesn’t understand that the day is any different or that I’d been looking forward to it for ages. I’m trying…

Top photo taken when Lyra was 18 weeks old and the bottom one when she was just 5 weeks. She still has his eyes, they both still have my heart!

I love our serious little girl. When confronted with new things she wants to examine and study them quietly. There are no shrieks of excitement or giggles from this one. I love seeing her personality appearing, she’s so similar to Matt!
