Day two of #30dayswild and we had to stay in all day to wait for deliveries which put a bit of a spanner in the works. Athena’s party is today so we had a lot of preparation to do so, apart from a quick spot of gardening, we spent the rest of the day in the house. I really didn’t want to miss a day of wildness so we decided to do a spot of nature themed crafts instead. I thought a little bit of butterfly painting would be simple enough for both girls to get involved in without me…

Just like that our littlest lady is one year old! We decided that after the obligatory cake eating and present opening we would jump on the train and head to Bristol to see some fish at Bristol aquarium. We actually did the same thing a couple of years ago when Lyra turned one and she had loved it so we had high hopes. Athena fell asleep on the walk from the train station to the aquarium so we were forced to stop off and get some coffee and cake to pass the time. I mean, we couldn’t let Athena miss…

When I decided to attempt 30 days wild with the girls this year I wrote a big list of activities we could attempt together. And then suddenly the beginning of June appeared from nowhere (I think I was distracted by Athena’s birthday) and I couldn’t decide where to start. I was overwhelmed and so yesterday I did the only thing I could think of. I followed Lyra’s lead. Lyra has a little kid’s camera and loves taking photos with it so I thought that a simple walk together would give me a chance to see what interests her. I then…

It would only take a few moments of browsing this blog to work out that we love spending time outdoors as a family. There really is nothing better in my opinion than exploring somewhere new with my husband and children. Watching my eldest daughter’s excitement as she spots a butterfly or watching her play with a stick after spending ages hunting for just the right one will never tire for me. And now we have our second daughter who turned one yesterday. She spent most of last year tucked up in a baby carrier whilst we were out and about…

Happy first birthday to our littlest lady! I cannot believe that she has been with us for twelve months already. This past year has absolutely flown by and yet it feels like that she has been a part of our lives for so much longer. Similar to what we did on Lyra’s third birthday we’ve compiled a little collection of clips to document her first year. It’s so lovely to see her go from that little newborn to the loud, energetic toddler she is now! Happy Birthday Athena Grace! We love you, Very Much So xx

Once again another month has flown by! I cannot keep up with this year. This month’s photos are some of my favourites that we’ve ever managed to take of our family. I mean, they’re probably the first ones where we are all looking at the camera! These pictures were taken on a recent trip to the woods and we had such a fun day. Athena is now walking 90% of the time around the house so we put her in wellies for the first time. How cute are little ones in yellow wellies?! I love it and now think that…

Dearest Athena, How are you already turning one my littlest darling?! It feels like only yesterday that I was writing a letter to Lyra on the eve of her first birthday and yet now she is three and it is you that we celebrate tomorrow. This time last year I was already having a few contractions but was most definitely in denial that you were on your way. After all, your sister kept me waiting with four whole days of contractions before she made her appearance. That, Athena, was my first mistake. Comparing you to your big sister has always…

22/52 The weather has been beautiful this week and we’ve been loving every second of it! Both of this week’s photos were taken on a trip to the park one morning in the glorious sunshine. In fact I think that they were both taken before 10am and it was already warm enough to be without jackets! It’s really hard at the moment to get a natural photo of Lyra. She is going through a stage where she pulls a stupid face as soon as she sees the camera pointing at her which is probably why most of my photos of…
