Low winter sun over the sea. My absolute favourite kind. So ready for Spring now but that winter sun is beautiful. The girls now reach for layers and waterproofs without even thinking about it, so long has this winter felt. Once wrapped up we make the short journey from the car park to Par Beach. Short in distance but not in time as the sparkling puddles which cover the car park are just too enticing for my children. Slowly we get closer, walk up the small hill and there is the beach. The weather forecast for our last weekend adventure of January was not a good one so Lacock Abbey seemed like the perfect destination. A slower pace, an easier one, that day. No need for the adults to wear wellies although the waterproof trousers and wellies are still needed for our puddle loving daughters. Well the first month of 2018 went quickly didn’t it?! In our house we attempted to keep the post Christmas blues away by getting out of the house as much as possible. We started the year by watching the sunrise on New Year’s Day which is where the picture below was taken and have squeezed in a few more adventures since. I’m determined for this year to be full of outdoor adventures, of appreciating all of the simple things in life, and not letting my arthritis hold me back at all.
