Portraits of my Children | 4/52

4/52

The girls’ photos are so different to each other this week but I love both of them. Lyra’s was taken yesterday, we went for a walk through the woods and it was absolutely freezing but she loved every second of it anyway. She’s had these wings for a few months now but always refuses to wear them and then suddenly, yesterday, she demanded them on. And who am I to argue? She looked so cute in them, my little woodland fairy.

In contrast Athena’s picture was taken at home during the week. I don’t share too many nursing photos on here and to be honest that’s mostly down to the fact that I haven’t taken many this time around. This week though Athena has discovered a love of solid food and I’m already noticing a decline in nursing sessions. It’s brought home the fact that she will stop breastfeeding at one point, this period in my life will be over forever and I don’t want to forget any of it. The way she looks up at me whilst I nurse her is the opposite of her big sister who was all business and I could just stare at those big blue eyes all day long.

Linking up with What the Redhead Said. You can catch up on my portraits of the girls from this year so far here and see last years here.

Oh, those eyes! I never managed to get a nursing photo I was happy with and that makes me sad now. I never quite realised when it would be the last time! And those wings are fabulous! Isn't it funny how they can be so stubborn about not liking something, until suddenly they think it's great! #LivingArrows

Love both photos! The first one is simply magical, and the second one, my, those eyes… My youngest also looked up at me a lot when he was nursing, but the baby years are well and truly behind us now…

Beautiful photos. I love the butterfly wings. The light makes the scene look so magical and looking at the pic of your little lady really makes me miss breastfeeding. It was such a special time for me x #livingarrows

Those wings are beautiful! She looks like a proper butterfly! I've never seen anything like them. Athena's photo is gorgeous too, her eyes look wonderful and I love the B&W x

Gorgeous, just gorgeous. And I'm ever so slightly envious of Lyra's wings! x #LivingArrows
