Portraits of my Children | 51/52

51/52

Week 51?! Just one week left of this year’s portrait project, I cannot believe it. This week’s photos are a bit backward for me, usually all of my photos of Lyra are taken outside and Athena’s are taken in the house. Whilst out and about at the moment it is so difficult to get a photo of Lyra where she isn’t just running off into the distance! She will not stop what she’s doing to have a photo taken and I’m not sure I even want her too. I much prefer the shots where she’s playing around, almost oblivious to the photo taking. This week’s photo of her was taken during a bouncing on the bed moment. She was throwing herself around and then started peeking at me like this. I love this photo so much, I mean look at that grin of hers! Having a child really does remind you how fun the simple things really are.

Athena’s photo this week was taken during a mid week walk. This little christmas pudding hat was Lyra’s when she was this age and I loved getting it out to put Athena in too. The perfect little festive number and it was knitted by the girls’ Grandma making it even more special.
