During my pregnancy with Lyra I spent so much time researching different products and window shopping for things we might need. I enjoyed going shopping for a new wardrobe to accommodate my growing belly. This time around I must admit that I haven’t really thought about either things much partly because I don’t have the time since I’m running around after Lyra all day and I guess I just feel like I’ve already got most things that I need for baby. But I really miss that part of pregnancy.
I must admit that I’d looked into subscription boxes for pregnancy as I liked the idea of having something special for this pregnancy so when Beebies Baby Store got in contact and asked if I’d like to review one of their Beebies Baby Club pregnancy subscription boxes I jumped at the chance. I feel guilty that I’m not dedicating enough time to this second pregnancy and this felt like an opportunity to focus on this little one growing inside me for once.
When you go on to the website to purchase the subscription there is a short form to fill in about your pregnancy to ensure that the box you receive is personalised to you and the stage you are. I thought this was a really nice idea because, since I’m already nearing the end of my second trimester, those early pregnancy essentials wouldn’t be much good to me. They also ask if it’s your first pregnancy and since this is not mine we received a very cute picture book that we could read to Lyra (and obviously to baby as well when they arrive). As you can see below Lyra got stuck in straight away!
Also included in my box when it arrived was some Simple shampoo which I must admit I opened to use with Lyra. It’s not one we’ve used before though so it’s nice to be introduced to something new. I also received a dress/tunic which was exciting as I’ve hardly bought any new maternity clothes for myself this time round since clothes shopping with a toddler is really not a fun experience. It’s not a colour I would usually go for because of my hair colour but I’m excited to see what it looks like on (I’m yet to try it as we’ve all been ill in our house and living in pyjamas recently).
The box is £20 a month and you really do get lots for your money. Obviously as with all subscription boxes it’s a bit of a gamble because you don’t know what you’re getting although the initial form when you order helps with that. I personally think that’s exciting anyway and I definitely enjoyed the surprise. It’s such a nice thing to buy to help build the anticipation of baby’s arrival even more and introduce you to new brands at the same time!
I was sent a box from Beebies Baby Store for the purpose of review however all words and opinions are entirely my own.
