I’m playing catch up with these portraits so I’m going to have to post a couple a week, oops! I’ve been taking lots of photos but since we were traveling and visiting family a few weeks ago I didn’t get the chance to post them. You can tell that we’ve been off adventuring because both week’s photos show Lyra in her element, exploring the world around her.
Last week’s photos were taken in my parent’s garden. It’s a place that I obviously spent a lot of time in as a child and it is so amazing to see Lyra enjoying it too. There’s just something about being in a place of my childhood that really brings it home that I have a child of my own now. The realisation and the accompanying love always come crashing over me as I watch Lyra walk paths that I did so many years ago.
This week’s photos were taken whilst visiting Matt’s Dad in Cornwall. We stopped after lunch to let Lyra have a run round on the beach. I think that in the top one she looks so much older than 17 months, it’s like getting a little sneaky peek into the future. Of course in the bottom one she looks like a typical toddler doing what toddlers seem to love to do, eat sand!
