I knew going into it that July was going to be a long, tough month for us. Looking at the calendar at the beginning of the month it was horrible to see no days off together as a family at all. Matt works Monday to Friday and I work Saturday to Monday, it’s just something we have to do at the moment and I know that some families have it a lot tougher but we struggle and I miss my family time.
Anyway, the month ended up going so slowly that out of desperation I booked a day of holiday last Sunday. The rain poured down, we headed to Tyntesfield anyway, and we had a great day. Unfortunately I didn’t take many photos as I was worried about the rain damaging the camera but I did get the ones above which I love. I usually try and get posed portraits for this project but these little selfies may be some of my favourite all year. They feel like the first ones where Lyra is actively in them, where we look like a proper little gang!
We did have a few hours all together at the beginning of the month when we were all sick but managed a little walk in the sunshine. We were not feeling the family picture taking though and the results really show that but I thought I’d share them here anyway as they’re still memories for us.
August is looking so much better for us than July. We have a day off together near the beginning of the month and then four days in Wales at the end of it. I’m so excited!
