It has been so long since I’ve been able to write one of these posts! A few months ago I booked this weekend off of work so that we could go away with family. That unfortunately fell through but, since Matt and I had been struggling with our lack of time together, I decided to keep the weekend off anyway so we could have some mini adventures.
Saturday was for our favourite place, Dyrham Park. I was so excited to be visiting, it felt like way too long since we’d last been. Our trip had to start with a walk to Lyra’s tree and although I was worried about how it would be growing, I’m happy to report that it’s looking good. So, of course I had to take way too many photos of Lyra next to her tree and then we had a little picnic whilst enjoying the view.
Lyra is pretty eager to try and walk now. She still can’t take more than a couple of steps on her own but if she has a hold of your finger she will walk and walk and walk. So, after our picnic we took Lyra to have a little explore of the wildflower meadow. I love these pictures I managed to snap of her walking with her Daddy and her Grandma. So sweet!
Dyrham Park is currently having their roof replaced and instead of closing its door they’ve created a rooftop walkway amongst the scaffolding. We decided to head up and it was amazing. You can see all of the work being done as well as stunning views across the grounds. It felt like such an experience and I would definitely recommend that you give it a go if you’re in the area.
And, of course no trip to Dyrham Park would be complete without our traditional tree photo. A perfect end to a perfect day.
